What we do
Esperanza Worker Center
The Esperanza Community Center’s (ECC) long term goal is to acquire suitable space to provide a controlled and safe environment for employers to hire day laborers and to accommodate more participants in ECC programs and services.
We are actively looking to lease a building for the day labor center. The ideal location is a 5,000-ft to 8,000-ft building. We will need space for a large labor hall, offices and classrooms. It would be ideal to have a partially or fully equipped commercial kitchen, as this will allow us to provide a light morning meal or snack to the workers. It would also serve as a possible educational space when conducting workshops and educational courses related to nutrition and wellness. The labor program will be open Monday through Saturday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, and on Sundays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.
We currently offer morning and evening educational programs, workshops, computer and vocational training to the workers and area residents that are interested in additional education opportunities and training.
Once we lease a building that can accommodate a day labor center we will expand training and education programs.
